Why Belt? Well,
Cascade County, home of Great Falls, hasn't had a brewery in decades and
was the last metropolitan area in the state without a microbrewery. Belt,
home to about 700 people, is situated a short 17 miles southeast of Great
Falls, close enough to service the area but far enough to retain that
small town feel. Even more important, Belt has fantastic water. We use
the Belt municpal supply which is supplied by wells sunk into the famous
Madison Formation. This formation is also the source for Giant Springs
in Great Falls and Big Springs in Lewistown. Belts' water is of constant
pure quality and temperature year round, is not treated or chlorinated,
and is perfect for brewing the kind of ales we produce.
